At PowerPoints and Switches, we are committed to supplying quality products backed by manufacturer warranties and the consumer guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer's Warranty
Many of the products available from PowerPoints and Switches are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. Warranty periods and conditions vary depending on the manufacturer and the product.
Manufacturer warranties generally cover defects in materials or workmanship under normal installation and intended use. They do not cover faults or damage resulting from:
Incorrect installation or wiring.
Misuse, abuse or accidental damage.
Unauthorised repairs, alterations or modifications.
Normal wear and tear.
Failure to follow the manufacturer's installation, operating or maintenance instructions.
External influences such as water ingress, power surges or environmental conditions where these are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe a product is faulty, please contact us before returning the item.
To assist us with your claim, please provide:
Your order number or proof of purchase.
The product name and, where applicable, the model number.
A description of the fault.
Photos or videos of the issue where available.
Products returned under a warranty claim may need to be sent to the original manufacturer or supplier for inspection and testing. This assessment is required to determine whether the fault is covered under the Australian Consumer Law or the applicable manufacturer's warranty.
Customers are responsible for the initial cost of returning a product for warranty assessment. If the product is confirmed to be faulty and covered under the Australian Consumer Law or the applicable manufacturer's warranty, we will reimburse reasonable return freight costs and provide the appropriate remedy, which may include a repair, replacement or refund, depending on the nature of the fault.
If the product is found not to be faulty, or the fault is not covered under the Australian Consumer Law or the applicable manufacturer's warranty, the customer will remain responsible for all freight costs associated with the warranty claim.
Warranty Assessment
Assessment times vary depending on the manufacturer and product. While we aim to process all warranty claims promptly, some manufacturers require additional time to inspect and test products before a warranty decision can be made.
We will keep you informed throughout the assessment process and advise you of the outcome once the assessment has been completed.
Replacement Warranty
Where a product is replaced under the Australian Consumer Law or the applicable manufacturer's warranty, the replacement product will be covered by the remainder of the original warranty period or any additional warranty period required by law.
A replacement product does not commence a new warranty period unless required by the Australian Consumer Law or expressly provided by the manufacturer.
If a replacement product is believed to be faulty, it will be assessed under the same warranty process outlined above.
